Hi, I’m Allie!
I'm originally from Texas, but I have been living in Florida for 5 years and in Orlando for a little over a year. I moved down from Gainesville after graduating for UF (Go Gators!). As a member of the OSN leadership team, you will see me planning many events from dinners at local restaurant to anything and everything book/bookish. I am an avid reader and the host of the OSN "No-Stress Book Club".
My goal for the coming year is to expand OSN event and activities to include more of Orlando and the surrounding areas. I am a huge theme park fan, but I have found so many great places and experiences outside of the theme park "bubble". I joined OSN earlier this year was greeted with nothing but kindness. I love that this group is an inclusive space to meet new people and try new activities. I hope all new (and old) members feel this same kindness through OSN!
Q&A with Allie!
1. What's your go-to karaoke song and why?
"God Bless Texas" because you can take the girl out of Texas but you can't take Texas out of the girl!
2. If you were a Disney character, who would you be and why?
Growing up, I was always compared to Tigger because of my boundless energy and ability to have full conversations with a brick wall. While age has slowed me down a little, I still consider myself an energetic social butterfly.
3. What's your favorite local Orlando spot that you think more people should know about about?
Lake Eola! There are so many things to do around Lake Eola. There are local events and festivals, along with restaurants and outdoor activities. There is something for everyone.
4. If you could instantly become an expert in one skill, what would it be?
I would love to become a language expert and be able to communicate with other without the hinderance of language barrier.
5. If you could instantly teleport to any place in Florida for a day trip, where would you go
Anna Maria Island is an amazing hidden gem in the Tampa Bay. AMI is often overlooked in favor or larger beach town, but it has so much small beachside town charm. Fun fact! My husband and I got married in AMI!
